Biography
Nicole McAllister is an experienced harpist who has recently moved to the Charlotte area from Pittsburgh, PA. She has been studying the harp for fourteen years, first, under the instruction of Gretchen Van Hoesen, Principle Harpist of the Pittsburgh Symphony and then, under the instruction of Anne Marguerite Michaud, another Principle Harpist of the Pittsburgh Symphony and Faculty Member at Carnegie Mellon University. Nicole plays as a soloist at weddings, receptions, retirement villages, concerts and other special events. Nicole has recorded two CD’s, “Rejoice With Christmas Strings” and “Enjoying the Journey.” She has played at Heinz Hall, Carnegie Museum’s Architecture Hall, Duquesne University and has traveled to other cities to perform. Nicole is married to Don McAllister. They live in the Waxhaw area. Nicole keeps very busy with performances, giving harp lessons and a variety of other activities as well as being a mom to Emma and Elijah. Nicole and Don are expecting their third child this April. She continues to grow her student group and gives lessons and teaches music theory in her home. She is constantly looking for others to share her love for music and the love for the harp.
